Council Visited Kemenhub to Discuss Muara Angke Revitalization

City Council's Special Committee (Pansus) for Muara Angke Pier Arrangement visited Transportation Ministry (Kemenhub) office to prepared revitalization plan deeply for Muara Angke that located in Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

City Council's Special Committee (Pansus) for Muara Angke Pier Arrangement Leader, Ferial Sofyan said, that visit was held to communicate Muara Angke Pier development plan.

"We wish to make a pier which is fully managed by Jakarta Provincial Government. We come here to consult about it," he said at Kemenhub Building, Wednesday (9/6).

Muara Angke Floating Restaurant Construction is Started

He conveyed, Kemenhub suggested Jakarta Provincial Government to form a special working unit to handle Muara Angke Pier management.

His side also plans to encourage Jakarta Development Planning Board (Bappeda) to make Pier master plan (RIP) as basic concept for Muara Angke Pier management.

"Previously, Bappeda has made RIP. But according to us, it is too simple. We want something bigger," he expressed.

At the same location, Acting Transportation Ministry's Sea Transportation General Director, Bay M. Hasani is welcoming the City Council plan. According to him, local government is very possible to manage pier as it is mentioned in law (UU) no. 17/2008 about Sailing.

"Actually it is depend on the local government side. I suggest to make derivative from its legal protection through regional regulation (perda) soon," he closed.
